3. Add and Drop
Add and drop week is a period of time where you can drop certain courses and replace the said courses with another course available (this is subject to the availability of the course!). If you are not interested in the said course and instead, you want to apply for another subject, you can do so via MAYA Module Registration. Rest assured that the process is similar to your regular registration. As long as you do not activate your course registration, you can always add or drop any of the courses!

4. Credit Hours Limitation
Maximum credit hours
- As a general rule, the maximum credit hours that can be taken in a normal semester is 20 credit hours and 9 credit hours for special semester.
- A new student is limited to taking not more than 18 credit hours in their first semester for their programme of study unless otherwise approved by the Senate.
- The number of credit hours do not include courses which are audited.
minimum credit hours
- The minimum credit hours that can be taken in a normal semester is 6 credit hours. Registration for less than 6 credits shall require approval by the Dean of the Faculty.
- For cases after the end of the minimum period of programme of study and /or for the purposes of fulfillment of graduation requirements, students may register less than the minimum number of credit hours stipulated.
- A student may register for more than 20 credit hours but not more than 22 credit hours in any normal semester after the first semester of his programme of study. This is subject to the student applying for and obtaining the approval of the Dean of the Faculty of the programme of study.
- A student in the final stage may make an official application via MAYA to the Dean of the Faculty of the student programmer of study for an exemption to register for more than 22 credit hours in any normal semester for the purpose of graduating in the semester concerned.
- A student in the middle stage who intends to complete his studies so as to graduate in the semester concerned may apply officially to the Dean of the Faculty of the student programmer of study to register for more than 22 credit hours in a normal semester or more than 9 credits in a Special Semester if the following requirements are fulfilled:
- is not under an academic probationary period in the semester concerned; and
- has a CGPA of not lower than 3.00 for the previous semester before the registration concerned.
- In the semester during which a student is placed under an academic probationary period, the student concerned is not allowed to register for more than 12 credit hours. The application to register for more than 12 credit hours must be made officially to the Dean of the Faculty for his consideration and approval.
- Application to register for extra credit hours must be made latest by the end of the first week of lectures of the semester concerned.
