One of the houses under the 'Rumah Sewa KMUM' visited by other university's Student Representative Council for bench-marking purposes.
'Rumah Sewa KMUM' (UMSU Rental House) is an initiative from the University of Malaya Students' Union (UMSU) under the Portfolio of Student Affairs. This initiative was established with helping the senior students especially those from the B40 family and those from Sabah and Sarawak to get a place to stay throughout their academic session.
Several of the houses are located at the area near the Ninth Residential College where the old bungalows owned by the university are being refurbished and repurposed for the students to stay. The houses are fully managed by the Union itself and with the rental rate being as low as RM150 per month. it truly serve its purpose of helping the students in need to have a place they can call home.
