The Counselling and Guidance Section functions as a division that provides academic counselling, career counselling, academic skills workshop and various other services that are even available through UMSISWeb. Student Health Clinic
The clinic provides various health services and facilities covering consultation and examination, blood screening and vaccination and many more. In order to be accepted for treatment at the clinic, all students must initially submit a medical report and chest x-ray. The clinic is located besides the Faculty of Science. UM Library
The library was established in 1959 and has now acquired a collection of more than a million titles with addition of 85 online databases comprising plentiful e-journals and e-books. Other than Central Library, there are also branch libraries which is Za’ba Memorial Library, Ahmad Ibrahim Law Library and T.J Danaraj Medical Library. The Central Library is located at the heart of University of Malaya near UM Central.
Postal Services
The Post Office at UM is located in the lobby of Block A, Perdanasiswa Complex. Stamps, postcards and various parcels for the handling of fragile mail are available at the counters. For further information, you can contact the office (03 7956 7308).
Financial and Banking Services
There are also several bank branches in the University campus that provide banking facilities and services open to the public. Maybank is located near the Student Health Clinic while Bank Islam is situated at the High Impact Research Building near Dewan Tunku Canselor.
Varsity Lake
This man-made lake is situated at the centre of University Malaya, it was there ever since University Malaya was established and had been through many changes. It is available for all sorts of student activities which include kayak, jogging around the lake and etc.
Museum of Asian Arts
The museum is located at the Faculty of Business and Accountancy and is open for visits. Within its three floors of exhibition space, the museum represents three civilizations; the Indian, The Chinese and the Islamic (Malay culture). Recreational Facilities
There are various sports and recreational facilities provided by the Sports Centre including an Olympic sized swimming pool at the centre, jogging tracks around the Varsity Lake, track inside UM Arena and many more facilities across campus that is accessible to students.
